PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Location Manager, custom applies fertilizers, crop protection products, inspects fields, maintains and repairs plant and mobile equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.

Applies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates and procedures.
Follows all pesticide labels.

Records application data according to regulations and standards.

Helps with seed delivery and chemical loading when needed.

Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for accurate and efficient blending and delivery of products.

Repairs, rebuilds, and maintains all equipment including a wide variety of light and heavy equipment plus facility manufacturing and shipping equipment to provide the proper image and extend the life of equipment.

Keeps all equipment clean and looking neat

Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble and maintain all equipment and vehicles.

Perform field or shop inspections to determine repair needs or estimate cost of repairs.

Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Normally requires previous applicator or related experience and/or training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply fertilizers, crop protection products, inspect fields, take soil samples, and do equipment maintenance.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Functional Competencies

Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions and communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.

Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Other Requirements

Must have or have the ability to obtain a CDL with Haz-Mat and tanker endorsements and a commercial operator spray license.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
